Why we built DUKA
Most off-the-shelf POS software is almost right — but misses the local details. The receipt format doesn't match your tax authority, the currency rounding is wrong, or mobile money isn't a first-class payment method. DUKA was built from the ground up to get those details right.
We took everything we learned from years of shipping retail software — the patterns that worked, the bits that frustrated shopkeepers, the places we'd hit a ceiling — and rebuilt it on a proper double-entry accounting engine. Every sale produces a journal entry. Every stock move has a paper trail.
